Configure your Cambium CnPilot managed access points

Configuration guide for Cambium CnPilot manged access points.

⚠️ Important: You will need firmware version 3.1 or above to continue.

Guest WiFi configuration

To configure your Cambium access points log in to your Cambium CnMaestro account, then follow each of the steps below:

  1. On the left-hand menu choose Wi-Fi Profiles then select WLANs.

  2. Click Add New at the top right. On the WLAN section, enter the below details:

    • Name: Wireless Social Guest WiFi.

    • Enable: Enabled.

    • SSID: e.g. _Venue Name Free WiFi.

    • VLAN: 1 - or whatever you require.

    • Security: Open.

    • Radios: 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6 GHz.

    • Max Clients: 200.

    • Client Isolation: Network Wide.

    • CnMaestro Managed Roaming: Enabled.

  3. Click Save.

  4. Click the AAA Servers tab, enter the following Authentication Server settings:

    • Authentication Server 1 Host:

      • Europe: radius1-eu.wireless-social.com

      • Americas: radius1-us.wireless-social.com

    • Authentication Server 1 Secret: Please contact Support.

    • Authentication Server 1 Port: 1812

    • Authentication Server 2 Host:

      • Europe: radius2-eu.wireless-social.com

      • Americas: radius2-us.wireless-social.com

      Authentication Server 2 Secret: Please contact Support.

      Authentication Server 2 Port: 1812

    • Timeout: 5.

    • Attempts: 3.

  5. Click the to expand the Accounting Server section, and enter the below:

    • Accounting Server 1 Host:

      • Europe: radius1-eu.wireless-social.com

      • Americas: radius1-us.wireless-social.com

    • Accounting Server 1 Secret: Please contact Support.

    • Accounting Server 1 Port: 1813

    • Accounting Server 2 Host:

      • Europe: radius2-eu.wireless-social.com

      • Americas: radius2-us.wireless-social.com

    • Accounting Server 2 Secret: Please contact Support.

    • Accounting Server 2 Port: 1813.

    • Timeout: 5.

    • Attempts: 3.

    • Accounting Mode: start-interim-stop.

    • Interim Update Interval: 300.

  6. Click Advanced Settings, configure the below:

    • Server Pool Mode: Failover.

  7. Click Save.

  8. Click on the Guest Access tab and configure with:

  9. Click Advanced Settings and under the Redirect settings ensure the following is configured:

    • HTTP Only: Disable.

    • Redirect User Page: leave blank.

    • Session Timeout: 86400.

    • Inactivity Timeout: 1800.

  10. Click Save to apply the settings.

  11. On the same page, click Pre-Login Allowed Domains. You will need to add each of the following walled garden domains. There may also be other relevant regional accounts if your venue is outside of the UK or US that you will need to add.

  12. To do this, click Add New, enter the domain, then click Add to save. Repeat for each of the domains.

  13. Click Save.


Insights Plus Configuration

If you intend to collect Insights Plus data, you will need to set this up under the AP Group.

  1. From the Wi-Fi Profiles page, go to AP Groups and choose your group.

  2. Click the Configuration tab and select Services.

  3. Under RTLS - Real-Time Location System - section, click Wi-Fi API and tick Enable.

  4. Add the server URL: URL is provided by the Wireless Social Technical Support.

  5. Click Save at the bottom of the screen.

Example:

Notify Support once you have completed the configuration and we can monitor for data coming in.

Your login and Insights Plus presence data will appear in the Insights portal within 24 hours.
