Manage your survey questions

Create survey questions and add them to your guest WiFi login journey to collect guest information during sign‑in.

Use survey questions in your login journey to collect information from guests as they connect to your WiFi. You can create new questions and add them to the login journey to control what guests see and when they are asked to respond.

Create a survey question

To create a question, follow the steps below:

  1. In Insights, click Configure WiFi, then click Questions.

  2. Click Add Question located in the top right-hand corner.

  3. You will be directed to the question builder to start configuring your question. Fill in the following details:

    • Question text: Input the customer-facing question, e.g. How did you hear about us?

    • Type: Choose from the list of options available. See the section below for the full list.

    • Appearance: The system may auto-select this but based on the question type, you can choose the appearance of the answer field, e.g. stars or circles for ratings.

    • Placeholder text: Optionally, provide additional information to prompt a response.

    • Requirement: Choose from three options:

      • Mandatory: Guests must answer the question to progress with their login journey.

      • Ask Once: Optional; if skipped, it won't be asked again on the next login.

      • Ask Repeatedly: Optional; if skipped, it will be asked again on the next login until answered.

  4. Click Save.

Question response types

Below are descriptions of each of the question response types available:

  • Text: Free text box.

  • Multi Choice: Select from two or more choices with checkbox or dropdown.

  • Asset Multi Choice: Select from two or more choices with an image.

  • Single Choice: Choose from two or more options using radio buttons or dropdown.

  • Asset Single Choice: Choose from two or more options with an image.

  • True/False: Answer with a checkbox for true or false.

  • Rating: Rate with options like stars or circles.

  • Country: Choose country via name select or dropdown.


Add a survey question to your login journey

Follow the steps below to add a survey into your guest WiFi login journey:

⚠️ Important: Make sure the question you want to add is already set up before following the steps below.

  1. In Insights, click Configure WiFi, then click Login Journey and open up the journey you would like to update.

  2. Drag an Ask Questions node onto your login journey editor canvas.

  3. Connect the question node to your login journey flow before the online node to ensure it is visible to all guests.

  4. Click the Edit icon to configure the question node.

  5. Optionally, you can add a header to your question page, e.g. "A quick question...".

  6. From the Questions drop-down, select the question you want to add to your survey.

    🤓 Tip: To add multiple questions, click the Plus icon.

  7. Under Page Template, select Standard Full-Screen Image Page from the drop-down.

  8. Add your background colour, image or video and configure your form colour, text colour and font options as you wish.

  9. Click Close once you have finished building your survey.

  10. Click Save to update the login journey.
