Wireless Social ensures GDPR compliance through opt-in sign-up processes, secure data storage on Amazon AWS servers within the UK/EEA, and oversight from a dedicated GDPR officer within The Access Technology Group.
It's important to understand the data controller responsibilities when using Wireless Social:
Data controller structure
Wireless Social acts as the Data Controller for data collected and processed through Wireless One - our seamless cross-venue login service.
Your organisation is the Data Controller for all personal data collected on your behalf through the WiFi sign-up process, including any additional data gathered via surveys or other Wireless Social products.
Our GDPR practices
All customer sign-up methods are opt-in, in accordance with GDPR requirements.
We have a GDPR officer responsible for maintaining all practices in accordance with data protection legislation.
No customer information is stored locally in any development or testing environments.
All customer data is stored on Amazon AWS servers within the UK/EEA.
Personally identifiable information is retained for 13 months after a user last interacts with the system, after which it is automatically removed.
Your responsibilities as Data Controller
As the Data Controller for data collected on your behalf, you are responsible for how you manage and use this data, including marketing communications and data subject requests. While we ensure that the collection and storage of your customer data is fully GDPR compliant, we recommend consulting an independent expert regarding your own data management practices.
